A Very big WELCOME to our new neighbours The Baker Boys, they are open for breakfast and lunch Monday – Friday at the moment but intend to extend those hours soon, with a bakery on site you won’t get any fresher. A 2 minute walk from Harbour House the menu is fabulous, I haven’t tried it yet (every time I go by it it’s packed – always a good sign!!!) but if their sister restaurant Shells in Strandhill is anything to go by you will not be disappointed. Best of luck to all involved from all at Harbour House.
Here’s a look at the menu (this doesn’t include the deli which changes daily).
Sligo has a new (well relatively new) Local Link bus service that runs to Bundoran three times daily, this bus doesn’t take the direct route, but runs through the heart of Yeats Country, calling at Drumcliff (Yeats Grave), Lisadell House (Countess Markievicz), Streedagh Beach(Spanish Armada), Mullaghmore and lots of other beautiful locations along the way to Bundoran, reasonably priced the trip is well worth it!! Please remember this is NOT a tour bus, but, a local service and whilst the driver usually will stop for a quick snap he/she doesn’t hang around too long – Leap Cards work on this service.
Sligo hosts some fantastic Markets that run year round.
The Strandhill Peoples Market runs every Sunday from 10am to 4pm and has a huge variety of Food & Crafts produced by some of the finest Local Artisan producers in the unique setting of Hangar 1 at Sligo (used to be international) Airport. The market is a 10 minute walk from the bus stop in Strandhill and is well worth a visit.
The Sligo Farmers Market runs every Saturday in the carpark at Sligo IT, whilst it started out as an Organic Market for local farmers it has developed hugely over the years and now has a huge variety of artisan Food & Crafts. A regular bus service runs from the bus station in Sligo – only a 10 minute walk from Harbour House
Rathcormack Artisan Food & Craft Market is on every Saturday from 10am to 3pm a little smaller than the others, however, it has beautiful food and crafts from locally based Artisans, set in absolutely the most scenic locations that you will find anywhere in the world, a must see and only a five minute drive from Sligo and there is a regular bus service to it, well worth a visit.
